MY EXPERIENCE

SPANISH TEACHER - BLUE VALLEY SOUTHWEST

August 2017 - Present

Propelled students to achieve language benchmarks with 75% proficiency according to the ACTFL standards and collaborated in curriculum development as a curriculum editor. lesson creator and curating authentic resources for the World Language Department.

INSTRUCTOR - THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS

August 2011- July 2017

Authored lesson plans to teach Higher-ed instructional courses in face-to-face, blended, and online formats aligned with the institution’s LMS (Blackboard) that met curriculum standards for classes of 20-25 undergraduate students.

Placed, supervised and mentored pre-service teachers in student-teaching positions and acted as liaison between 2 school districts and the university’s pre-service education program.

SPANISH TEACHER - WEST COLUMBIA CHARTER SCHOOL

August 2009 - August 2010

Created and prepared lesson plans for middle school and high school Spanish with a culturally responsive pedagogy approach and reported a 20% increased retention of diverse learners by optimizing engagement with authentic resources prioritizing student success and language proficiency.
